44-40 Loads

Hey guys, I just purchased a S&W Model 544. I am not familiar with loading lead bullets. I have been reading all I can in regards to loading the 44-40. My question is what diameter bullet should I be using? It seems like I should be using .427. Any input on loading the 44-40 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you are using lead, slug your barrel and go up one or two thousandths, depending on accuracy or leading in the bore. I think Powder valley has brass also.
