    Ammo/bullets shipped to LA county?

Its been a while since I have bought ammo and supplies. On a number of sites i have seen referance to ammo or bullets not avail to ship to Los Angeles. Can anyone clarify this? Im in San Fernando Valley.

You are ok. Its the City of Los Angeles that you cant have ammo shipped to. County of LA has no ammo restrictions.

There are no L.A city laws prohibiting ammo to be shipped here. There are laws saying you have to give a fingerprint and a signature, which out-of-state vendors don't want to deal with. Not all vendors refuse to ship here, you have to find one that does.

There are no restrictions on bullets, just on loaded ammo within the CITY of Los Angeles.

Wouldn't the San Fernando Valley be in the City of LA?

That depends on how you write your address.

            123 any street
            Los Angeles, CA 91340

            123 any street
            San Fernando, CA 91340

They ship to the second address, not the first address.

I disagree, when I lived the Valley I wrote down the name of the city I lived in and still could not get things shipped to me by some businesses who used a zip index ( I guess)

guess you ordered from the wrong people, because Van Nuys, is not Los Angeles city, its in the County of Los Angeles. Burbank, and Glendale are also in the County of Los Angeles, and I have never had a problem having ammo shipped to any of these cities.

i have had trouble from some getting ammo shipped to me. I'm in glendale, ca (but it's in LA county). To avoid the hassle, I ship stuff to my in-laws' house in Apple Valley. I go shooting with my F-I-L every couple weeks so it's easy to pick the stuff up.

We were talking about J&G sales in particular.

Huh, a friend of mine orders ammo all the time and has it shipped to his work address. It's listed as Los Angeles CA too.

All the above are within the county of Los Angeles, but Van Nuys certainly is the city of L.A. The only parts of the SF Valley that are not L.A. are San Fernando, Burbank, Glendale, Hidden Hills (separate cities) and Universal City (unincorporated L.A. County)

some may ship to parts of the SF Valley because they don't have 900XX zip codes, most are 913XX or 914XX

I have been ordering ammo for a long time. I am in north hollywood.

To my understanding you are unable to buy handgun ammo in Los Angeles (CITY)
                              hence address Los Angeles CA

I live in North hollywood CA

Its los angels City it self and i believe its just handgun ammo buy may be wrong there.

I have ordered from many places like ammoman, aimsurplus, Natz, Midway etc..

but hey i could be wrong about all of this have not looked into it for at least 5 years.
