#16 shell plate or Hornady lnl AP binding

I just purchased a #8 and #16 shell plates. The #8 goes right on and functions like normal. the #16 will not slide on like the #8. I tighten down the bolt, not to tight and the thing binds up and will not cycle. Has anyone had issues with this before. Did I get a bad shell plate. I have tried it a couple of times and its the same. Any help would be great. thanks

I found that if I dont tighten the bolt at all it will cycle but bind just a little. As soon as any pressure is placed on the shell plate from the bolt it binds really bad. The #8 works wi5h no issues.

did you apply the grease?

This happens with my #10 shell plate. It makes a grinding sound as it turns. I have probably 5 other shell plates and none do this. A little grease on the #10 and it works okay.

is it warped? Try checking on a known flat surface.

or just call Hornady for a replacement.
