    Resizing 9mm question

Set up my new Dillon 550 a couple weeks ago in 9mm using Dillon dies. I read the instructions from dillon on how to setup each station and went to work making some dummy rounds with no powder or primers (cant find powder, have a ton of primers). The "finished" rounds drop nicely into the 9mm vase guage from dillon. Anyway, after sizing in station one ill pull the brass out to give it a once over to see what's going on and get an understanding of operation. Question, when I take a look at the brass out of station one they look to almost have an hour glass look to them. Is that normal and that point of the operation?

After belling the case mouth, seating the bullet and crimping the round still has the hour glass. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Yes I'm sizing all the way down. I'll try to post a pic if I can figure out how. ;-)

Do they look like this? or this? Both are good.

In a pic u can't even tell actually. But a finished round is .376 at the crimp, .373 in the middle and .387 at the base.

I can hardly see in your pix. I can barely see it visually but not really in any pics that I have taking.

it happens with carbide dies because it has a mouth size ring and when the bullet is seated it expands out wider that it was when sized

in the reloading community it is called "may westing" its common with 30 carbine

Completely normal. Especially for a Dillon. Dillon dies do it more than any other brand because of their larger mouth.
