    7.62 NATO reloading data

Can anyone reccomend a safe accurate load that they have ACTUALLY USED
for the 7.62 NATO round? I've got 5 different manuals and they all list .308
Winchester in bolt action rifles. I want a good load for my M1A's. And while the external dimensions are the same, I understand that the case volume is not. I intend to use 4895 powder, as being the closest to military powder specs.

The Hornady Manual has a section for 308 service rifle and they used the M1A for the test rifle. there are loads for 155gr 168 gr and 178gr bullets.

I use 42 grains of 4895 with Remington primers and 165 grain Remington bullets (I think its remington). Shot out of an AR10 (Fulton/DPMS), groups 0.75MOA. I also loaded some 180grain Amax's with 40.5 grains of 4895 that shoots very accurate.

I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

What kind of velocity are you getting with this load?

I added on my loads @ 2500fps. This is a good 100yard plinking load. I have not shot it farther, but I guess that's what sights are for when I get a chance.
