Loading 223 without cleaning lube off?

I have always tumbled, deprimed/sized, trimmed, chamfered/deburred, then tumbled again before loading. And then I ran across this video on youtube tonight showing a guy using the RCBS X-Die on a progressive and he is loading a once fired brass from start to finish without cleaning the lube off from sizing. Is this okay to do? Don't you have to clean brass before adding the primer, powder and bullet? If you don't have to and can just tumble the completed round that would sure save a lot of time. What's everyone's opinions on this? My intended reloads are for plinking and not match for this scenario if that matters.

Looks like the lube was only on the outside, I would not load cases with lube that goes inside the case.

I've done that before and then threw in finished rounds into the tumbler
plinking is whatever

I never used to tumble/wipe lube off 9mm, or 5.56, for about 1.5 years.

It gets all over your hands along with dirt at the range.

I usually tumble, lube, size, tumble, load now, but I have an extra toolhead for sizing-die these days...

If your rifle will feed and chamber neck sized only rounds, you could use a collet neck sizer die like lee makes, and not have to use lube at all.

One shot is advertised as it will not contaminate powder or primers. I spray that on my brass and i don't wipe if off after sizing; inside or out. I've never had a problem but that not necessarily an absolute indicator of it not contaminating the powder/primer.

either way, I trust Hornady.

I use RCBS Pump Spray lube. After sizing on a single stage press I just toss them into an old towel fold it over them and rub back and forth. Takes off the lube just fine.
When loading on the Dillon650 I do the same except I do it once they are loaded.
Never had any troubles with the loads for any type of shooting.
I never tumble after depriming.

I've been wet cleaning , drying, Dillon Case Lube, rolling and then dumping into case feeder on a Dillon 650, loading ,and then walnut tumbling. Works fine for me. EXCEPT when find a cartridge missing a primer. Then I have to sift thru the media to find a nice clean primer.

I wipe them down after loading.

Remove the lube at some point before the round sees a chamber. The expanding case needs to grip the chamber walls when it is fired. If lubed, most of that force ends up on the bolt face, which isn't far from your face....

This is how I do my .223; once the brass is fired in my gun, I just use a neck sizer die from Lee Precision, no lube. So my process is: tumble, deprime/reprime & neck resize, charge, seat bullet.

I don't like tumbling more than once, or after priming. Just seems like a waste of time.

I'm glad I asked. I thought cleaning lube before priming and powder was mandatory. Glad to know it isn't. Does me using imperial lube change things or do I have to use one like the aerosol Hornady?

I use Lee lube never had a problem inside or outside.

I thought the same thing when I was reloading .223 ammo. I used Lyman lube, which is thicker than an aerosol spray and had to be wiped off. My process was deprime, tumble, lube, resize, clean off lube, trim if necessary, and then prime and load.

I don't use a spray , goes every where, Lee lube, pad put some on a neck brush did them, loaded wiped off.
