Is anybody loading a 300 Blackout using the Extreme 150gr plated bullet

I just loaded some and hope to shoot them Friday. Reviews online are mixed but it mostly seems to depend on how willing people are to work with its parameters - you have to play with the OAL or you'll have feeding issues as it interacts with the magazine rib, and you don't want to drive it too fast because it's plated. But for a light plinking round, no extreme accuracy needed, there are people who love it. We'll see.

what powder and load? you may not get them to cycle in an ar. too fast you will lose plating. boltie you should not have issues. 16 gr H110 to start?

Eljay's info appears to be correct. I'm just starting to experiment with this bullet using AA 1680.

I loaded Matchking 200 Gr bullets with 12Gr of IMR 4198...works fine

save your aa1680 for heavier bullets like the lead 200+ gr

Yes I do and the 123 grains also... What do you want out of it to start?

It takes quite a. Bit to get them to feed properly

Oal I "think" was 1.975 was the best...

The ONLY mag that will work are magpul gen 3's nothing else so far...

And I think I used 15grains of h110

So I have an update. I loaded 20 of the 150s at 14.6gr H110. That particular value is because a particular setting on my powder measure hit 14.6 and it was on the low end of what people have reported working. OAL 1.926. I really just wanted to get some idea of how this ran in my AR Pistol, so I shot it seated at 25 yards. No chrono at this point. 10 round PMAGs.

And the result was no drama. Ran fine. Little bigger group than my load with Sierra Match Kings and the same size as Freedom Munitions factory ammo. The difference with the SMKs may have been me shooting more carefully with those because they're expensive. It's noticeably lighter than my usual load but no problems cycling, or feeding, or anything else. No obvious signs of plating failure.

The intent with this was to produce a cheap plinking load for shooting standing, so I'm calling this a complete success. I'll do 50 next time and chrono a few just to get some idea of how much leeway I have if I decide to crank up the load a notch (there might be some occasional problem that'll only show up with more testing).

But that's pretty cool. 11 cents/bullet, 480 rounds per pound of powder. Probably 20 cents a round including powder and primer versus 60 for Freedom Munitions when they have it. Fun to shoot, makes a decent sized hole.

I tested it from 13.0 grains up to 15.5.... 15.5 is where I started flattening primers

I also tested my brass at 15.5... People say that you HAVE to anneal blackout brass or it will split... I got 6 firings with this load( 150 grain xtreme fp 15.5 grains of h110 and wolf srp....) I gave up on the brass after the 6th firing because the brass didn't split and I could feel the primer pockets wearing out more as I loaded
