    Soft point tips in AR?

I have an option to buy 2000 Hornady .224 55 gr soft point bullets for an OK price. But are there problems with loading this type of tip with an M4 style AR?
Do the points stick or jam on the feed ramps? I haven't tried loading these types of bullets and I could find much on a search.

    Yay or no way Jose?

I don't know about your M4, but mine fed soft points just fine. M4's can be quirky, what feeds fine in new may not in another that is made by the same manufacturer and is the same model. If I were you, I would load a small batch to test fire in your gun. I'm sure someone has 5 to 10 soft point pills that you can bum, just to load up and test fire

c'mom, now who of us can just shoot 5 or 10 rounds.....

I just might add it to my black friday list, if it doesnt work, well I could always resell them.

Haven't had any issues with Hornady 55 SP's in multiple AR's and in fact they are more accurate than the FMJ's. I've read that you should take more care in cleaning the locking lugs of the barrel when shooting a lot of soft points but I haven't noticed any problems with lead buildup. Only negative I see is the flat base is not as easy to sit on the case neck and feed into the seating die as are the boat tailed FMJ's.

I love the soft points, but I can't find them anymore. These are great varmint rounds for an AR-15 style rifle as they expand vs. the FMJ BT version that I have thousands of

You should have no problem with shooting soft points. I've used Speer, Hornady, Winchester, Sierra soft point brands weighing from 55 to 65 grains with no problem in my Colt HBar AR.
