Here is the data from hornadys 2013 load manual. Use the 230 gr LRN data.

SR 7625 is a very interesting powder. It works Ok in the .45, 9mm and .32SWL.

It is not good in .38 special giving inconsistent velocities at recommended load levels. I stuck not one, but three bullets in a .38 just testing it out.

A member of another board tested it with 125 grain bullets in a .38 and velocities varied from 400-700 fps if the gun was tipped forward or back when loaded.

Now in the .45 I tried 5-5.5-6 and 6.2 grains with a 230 grain plated bullet.
While ejection was not as robust as 4.5 grains of Bullseye all the cases were ejected.

My point being is that this is not a powder to try to load lightly. I load no less than 6 grains with a 230 grain plated bullet and it still feels a bit light when compared to factory or my other loads. The highest listed data for a 230 grain bullet was found in Speer #11. Started at 5.9 and max listed at 6.9 grains.

My experience with 185 grain plated bullets show that unless loaded near the top there will be poor ejection and lots of unburned powder on the shooting bench.

There you have it.I bought eight powders because it was available but I'd rather use Bullseye or Unique.

Not the exact bullet but you probably won't go wrong loading to cast data. I don't know what bullets they're using that a 230gr RN bullet is loaded to a 1.200" COL but whatever. I load 230gr Berry's to 1.25".

.45ACP isn't particularly sensitive to changes in COL if you're using light target charge weights and don't get silly. All other things being equal a longer COL will lower pressure anyway. Just make sure you don't go loading maximums from the getgo. Work up till you find your best accuracy. You will almost certainly find that well before finding maximum pressure levels.

If you're looking for firebreathing frame crackers then Berry's are the wrong bullet anyway.

7625 is cast bullet rifle powder. 5.3 grs for PB with 230 cast bullet reduce it 10% &work up for your plated bullet.

Is 7625 the same as SR 7625? The .45ACP loads I see all list SR 7625

The Hodgdon burn rate chart shows SR 7625 at just faster than HP38/W231
