What type of 308? Will it be a bolt or semi?

If it is a semi. I would get the 2 die set. For a bolt, I would get the 3 die set.

I am not trying to be a jerk.......but, did you not read your reloading manuals?
They will explain the difference between the neck and fl dies.

I use both dies when I reload, I use the neck die, till the brass gets difficult to chamber. Then I use the fl die to bump the shoulder back just a hair. So that it chambers easily. This helps to make my brass last longer.

Get your reloading manuals out and look up case head separation, or failure!
If you only use the fl die and do not have it set up right..... this could happen in just a few times of using that brass. Some rifle chambers are worse than others!

Thanks. I just ordered the Lyman 49th Edition. I have a bolt 700 Remington. The book is still in the mail and I want to find a deal on black friday, free shipping is the best I will probably find, but wanted a fighting chance with what I need.

What about annealing? When do you do that?

I just went back and read my post.
I came off kinda ruff........sorry about that!

I anneal when I have reloaded them about 5 times. I full length size, then neck size, till I have to full length size again. That's when I anneal.

There is some good stuff on youtube. Just stay away from the trash.

www.youtube.com/user/ammosmith is a good one to learn from.

The Lyman book is a good one.

          Take care

2 die set is enough if you are shooting for accuracy i think.
annealing is an option if you have $$$

Please explain. I have almost no money involved. I just use a hand held torch.
              Then dump in cool water.
