nufinish question

I have never tried nufinish in my tumbler but i have a couple of questions about using it.

1. Can I use it with walnut media?

2. Do I add a cap full every time I tumble or just as needed, and if just as needed how do I know when that is?

I toss it in my walnut media and it seems to work fine
Doesnt need to be done everytime, just add some more when they dont come out looking as shiny.

Don't add it when you tumble, add it by itself before you tumble and let the tumbler run until it mixes in to the media and there are no clumps. I normally run it for an hour or so then tumble. YMMV

This, i run it for 20-30 minutes though

great advice, I almost forgot that step, cant wait to try this. Now just to confirm this is just regular nufinish car polish from auto parts store? right?

Correct. I have used other polishes but Nufinish is cheap and works very well.

I do not recommend any othe polish except for NuFinish. Other brass cleaners such as BRASSO and FLITZ contain ammonia which over the course of time will chemically make your brass weak and brittle. NuFinish DOES NOT contain ammonia.

Refer to any cleaner's MSDS before using it if you are not sure.

I tumble initially without nufinish for 30 minutes to clean. After loading, I throw in NuFinish to my media, let it run for 3 minutes and then add my loaded rounds to shine them. up and remove any oils or residual lubes.

I use a cap full of Nu Finish and add a tablespoon of mineral spirits to my dry tumbler. The mineral spirits gets those really stubborn little cases nice and shiny after about 1-2 hours.

I've using NuFinish. For a while now and works great. Yes do run your cleaner for at least 15 or longer till you don't see any clumps. It works on both walnut and corn cob media.

Like broccoli killer, I also add a bit of mineral spirits. Makes the cases shine and also reduces dust.

I don't really measure. Just lightly drizzle a few times around the bowl. Might be about a cap or so. I add a small dollop of mineral spirits to the bottle to thin it just a tad.

Make sure ya shake it really well.

And make sure the cap is screwed on before ya shake it. It makes a pretty nasty mess of everything if ya don't. Ask how I know...

Toss in a USED drier sheet. Helps with dust & static.
