    Loose Primer Pocket?

I know primer pocket will get loose after a few reloads. But how do you determine how loose is too loose when priming? Any tips?

You can feel the difference when loading. There should be a little resistance.

If you don't feel any set that case aside and see if you can dislodge the primer with a kinetic bullet puller in reverse. If it comes out smash the brass, if it stays after a few whacks you should be good to go.

When the primer falls out when tapping it on the table that means its too loose. When priming the case, if you feel literally no resistance, fire it then throw it out.

I hand prime my brass loaded on a single stage press. It is easy to find the loose primer pockets.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Pull-it, deprime, use spring loaded center-punch around a few points (3-7) around the primer pocket, test it, then mark it, and scrap-it during prep next time?

It'd be a good test to see if you could squeeze one more out of it.

What Allied said, swipe the case bottom with a permanent marker, and round file it after it's turn in the chamber.

i had some one fired ppu 30-06 brass that the primers had literally no resistance going in. when i pulled the brass out of the press, the primer had stayed in the press. they were that loose and all 20 i had were that way.

so i linked them up as a display piece

i also had some once fired KA 30-06 brass that i could not get primers into at all. (yes i removed the crimp) they have also been linked up for display. do these have some sort of bastard size primer?

interesting, I never though of using the kinetic pullet in reverse.
                        thanks,
                        gonna have to try that
