Has anyone switched out the bullet that attracts magnets ( most surplus ammo) with one that doesn't for the 7.62x54R to be able to shoot at ranges. I pulled one off for fun not planning on reseeding it, just wondering what your thoughts on the idea are.

"Mexican Match" ammo is when they bullet the bullets off of the Lake City Match M118 cartridges that used 173gr bullets and replaced them with 168gr.
So the idea of pulling bullets to replace them is not new.
The key is to make sure you are using a bullet with equal or lesser weight than the one being replaced.
Then you need to resize the neck of the cartridge. Remove the decapping stem so you don't remove the primer. Put the powder back in and seat the new bullet.
You probably want to use a collet puller as opposed to a kinetic puller to remove the bullets since it will be easier and faster.
