I tried using my Dillon trimmer tonight on some 223 brass and it was not fun TRYING to set up. I've read that some do not run the die all the way down because they do not want to bump the shoulder back or whatever reason blah blah blah. Since my FL sizing die is setup for my gun, I don't want to be bumping the should back more than I need to and over working my brass. So I tried to set up the die so I could accomplish that, but my brass doesn't go high enough for the trimmer to reach it. So, I ran the trim die all the way down and the brass still BARELY sticks out of the die for the trimmer to reach it without cutting into the die..... the brass is 1.76X that I wanted to uniform all at trim length (1.75). Is my brass not long enough? What am I doing wrong here? This thing is a pain to try and setup..... Anyone have any advice or tips, or better yet, live in the folsom/edh area that uses one.... Thx

You have the .223 trim die touching the shellplate and the neck does not enter the die enough to cut it without hitting the die?
Something is wrong. The brass should easily enter the die 1/8"Comment

correct..... when the trim die is run all the way down in station 3 (xl650), the brass is BARELY visible. I'm trying not to bump the should back more than I have to which seems impossible......
