    The above is all correct.

    I would add the following:

I have a Dillon 650 set for 223, it has the powder check die. It gives an audible alarm for both high and low charges.

A few months back I bough 9k pcs of 5.56 ofb from Wideners. It was the worst brass batch I've ever come across. The powder sensor was going off about 1 in 25 rounds. When checking the throw on the RCBS 1500 scale it was exact at 25.6 grns of W748. The sizing was correct in the case gauge.

My conclusion: Variables in case capacity due to case thickness. It all checked out in minimum and maximum spec. Since this was all being used for plinking ammo the pressure variables were not a concern in knowing none would spike above acceptable.

Might add: Wideners advertised this brass as being some of the best they have ever seen with no SAW in the lot. Kind of put a sour note into my feeling towards Wideners.

On the plus side they did send an extra 500 pcs at no charge when I called them on it. Mary was quick to offer it, which leads me to think others have complained before me.

Sorry I meant A and Os brass. The

brass. It would be good to know what out there has such massive case variations.

Of course if you want to be sure, you could go through the whole lube, resize, prime/load/seat cycle again and reuse the primer if you want.

I don't use loading blocks when loading single stage. I prime all my brass and line up the tub full of brass, a powder measure, the press and a container for the finished rounds. I charge, visually inspect, seat, shake. No chance of a missed load and 25.0g H335 leaves just enough room to definitely feel a full charge shaking inside.
You certainly do need to resize the neck because the act of seating the bullet ruins neck tension. If you pull the bullet and reseat it, the neck will not have the correct tension on the bullet. Trying to fix it with crimp isn't gonna work.

That's surprising. Ill need to go through my LC 10 stock but I've typically had very good consistency from LC within a year.

And yes I'm on a single stage. I usually do one step at a time so I FL all 500, then prime 500, then trim the cases, then I do batches per 50 throwing charges an measure per 5 unless its a well throwing ball like h335 I throw and check per 10 and if it's spot in for 50 throws ill just check every 10. Then I seat, messure OAL, then crimp...

Wait, you are priming before trimming?

Ive made the mistake of putting polishing compound in my tumbler while there were shells in there. That causes clumps to find their way into the shell, and stick inside the cases. I caught a few when the powder looked a little high on some. They basically had clumps of dried polishing compound + walnut dust caked inside.

Anyways, that what I thought of when I read your post.
