    IMR 3031 223 load

I bought 8 pounds of this without realizing the metering problems. I ended up buying a Lee perfect powder measure and making some modifications so that it meters well, And got to test out some loads last night. I was only able to go out to 25 yards, but with a 55 grain bullet on 24 grains of 3031, I was getting holes on top of holes. Clean burning, very few signs of over pressure, maybe a few slightly flattened primers, but no worse than what I see with factory loaded xm193.

I'm pretty happy with this, and now that I can meter it well, I think I found my new bulk 223 loads. Anyone else use this for 223? What is your experience/pet load with this stuff?

Get you're self a good steel powder measure & some 52-53gr match bullets & you'll like it even more but it doesn't flow like a ball.

I couldn't get a load i was happy with, with 3031 with my 30-30. Leverrevolution got a lot tighter groups@ 100yrd then 3031 did at 50yrds. And it does meter like crap.
