AR-.223 cleaner powder.

Just about done with my first pound of Reloader 10, could anybody suggest a cleaner powder? Loads are find at about 20.5 gr. behind a 55gr. Hornady. Im' not looking for any match load just something to bang around at the range.

748, h335, Varget, Tac, and 4064

748 was the cleanest for me

same here, pretty much only use WW 748 for 55gr .223

Varget seems to me to be pretty clean.

I've been wanting to try CFE223. It is supposed to remove any copper in the barrel. Anyone tried it?

I've wanted to play with AR-COMP for a while. What problems are you seeing with dirty powder? I've never had a problem with dirty powder in an AR.

Varget might be clean in a bolt gun but not in an AR. If you don't like scraping greenish gray soot, stay away from Varget, its accurate though and a favorite amongst competitive shooters.

If you can find it, Hogdon CFE223 is a great powder that is very clean.

At this point I use anything I can get. Begets can't be choosers. I tend to use BLC-2 and pull down powder when I can get it. Right now powder pro Varmint because I have it. BLC-2, 748 are both good.

Im' happy with the performance of Reloader 10. My used brass has a lot more burned powder on them as well as the receiver and barrel of my AR than with factory loads. I have a lb. of AR-comp but read it ran better with a larger bullet. Might look into some W748.

Look for Benchmark, it's been available at third generation lately.

Try win 748, it meters very well thru a powder measure for me.
