Is there a different stem for round nose and flat? My dies only have the one seating stem. With round nose they usually sat evenly everytime, with flat noses I had to press and twist round a few times to get it to seat as far as I wanted

my Lee dies are the same, they contact on the ogive. I start the bullet a little, then back off to let the neck tension help right the bullet, then I finish seating. Give it a try.sigpic

Round nose bullets were hornady 150gr from long time ago. And the flat nose I just acquired are sierra 150gr pro hunter.Comment

you might want to try backing off the die some and trying to seat without crimping, you should just be able to unscrew it if you don't want to reset the die, you are just trying to see if they will seat differently without the crimp.
if that works I recommend getting a separate crimp die... if it doesn't work I still recommend getting a separate crimp die.
*edit*
just curious, when you set your die "by the book" did you raise the ram all the way, not taking in to account the cam over... does you press cam over?
I don't know if this would make a difference, except for possibly over crimping on the way down?
I could be way off base, the cam over could make no difference at all... maybe I just need another beer.

The Oregon trail cast I use are .310, takes a good belling to seat them without shaving lead.sigpic
