    Reloading 223

I have about 400 55gr bullets and have about 4lbs of "reloader 15". I had been loading 62gr bullets but due to the market bullets and powder are hard to come by right now. I can't seem to find any load data saying I can use reloader 15 with 55gr bullets. Is there any safe way of doing this?

Use the same charge for your 62gr bullets and see if it cycles the action properly.

      Googlefu?
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

The Alliant site only lists .223 with 62, 69, and 77gr bullets - not 55gr for RL15. It will be safe to use with 55gr bullets, its just not the best powder for that weight of bullet.

According to the Lee Modern Reloading Manual:
          223 Rem
          55 Gr jacketed bullet

          Reloader 15
          Start Grains 25.3
          Never Exceed 28.0 (compressed)

Agreed, you'd be better off with benchmark or varget with 55gr bullets. 69gr bullets would be a good match for RL-15

Yours must be an earlier version of lee? Mine doesn't show RL-15 with 55gr. I used 25gr awhile back and and everything cycled fine.

Yes I am aware that RL15 is the best powder for 55gr's, but I need some rounds for a camping trip and can't put my hand on the powders I'd use and I have some RL15 to spare. Thanks for the help!
