When I reload, I only have the components I use for that caliber on the reloading bench. It's very easy to get distracted and use the wrong powder, primer, or the wrong quantity of powder. There are a lot of things that you can do wrong, but the only mistake that can cause a kaboom is the wrong kind or quanity of powder. All the other mistakes can cause misfeeds and msfires, but not injuries or death. Double and triple check your components versus the manual before starting. Do a complete clearance of the workbench when changing calibers or bullet weights. I also check each tray of cases after powder addition with a flash light to see if the powder level in each case is the same. I also check the weight of the last one of each tray to make sure it's still correct.

I load for some of the most accurate rifles on the planet and most reloaders have too much junk they will never need.Only buy what you need not what other shooters think you should have.

I probably shoot more than 99 44/100 percent of the posters on this site and don't own a turret press.Nothing wrong with them they are just not required for most shooters.

You need a funnel ,scale, dies, Imperial sizing die wax, loading block and a press with priming ram.Everything else is either fluff or for more precision but not needed to get you loading.

You can buy 4 one pound bottles of powder at $35 a pound or 8 pounds at $18 a pound. Its your money.

Also what would be some good reloading books to get? Thanks in advance.
If not already advised ... The first thing you need to do is get a reloading manual. I highly recommend the Lyman #49, and the ABC's of Reloading.

Getting a kit is good too. I got the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme kit. It comes with a Speer Manual. The Speer Manual is very nicely written too. Before you build your bench, or get started .... reading the manual ... especially the front section is essential.
