finally got my reloading bench together!

What I do for work is typically build the racks for large warehouses. Perks of the job are free left over scrap rack material. We build our work tables and storage racks for the shop with them. This time I used it for reloading bench. 60x27x36h. Used "resin deck" as the table top which is 3/4 inch thick, and has a grey laminate face. And used a router to put a nice beveled edge around it.

I am unsure exactly where I want the press and powder measure to be. Does anyone have any input on that? I'm right handed..

I also am missing a few things, so far I noticed the pin that holds the universal primer arm into the press, and missing the clip that holds the primer catcher tray in place. Got most of the stuff from a member here on calguns awhile ago, mostly everything is from the 70s.

I was fortunate, years ago, a store call Home Base went out of business and they had lots of boltless racks. I purchased some for next to nothing and now my entire garage is lined with these racks. I also left one section open and made it into a bench area and made an island bench. I wish these items were regularly available. Good job on your bench. Don't make anything permanent, as you reload, you will discover where you want each tool.

      Nice sturdy looking set up.

You can mount your press on a 2x6 and clamp it to the desk with C clams until you decide where you like it most. That will save you from drilling a bunch of holes in the table top as you move it around until you find the spot you like best.

Since you are right handed you might try to put the powder drop to the left of the press. This way you are using your right hand to pump the lever and left hand to move the brass.

But it is all about what works for you.

You could mount the powder measure on a piece of 1"x6" with either some felt on the bottom or possibly rubber feet. This would allow you to position the powder measure where you want it, when in use, then moved back/out of the work area, when not in use.

I also welded 2x2x3/16 angle iron to the front beam to be a support under the 2.25" wood lip.

I need to get those missing parts and make make up some 30-30 to sight in my win94 deer gun.

Nice looking setup. I notice you have the same press as I do and the auto primer feed. (If you need some extra tubes, PM me. I have few I don't use anymore.) I'd suggest you move the Uniflow to the left of the press, as others have.

Can't tell how heavy your bench is but if you're loading bottle neck cases, like the 308, 30-06, etc, be sure and use enough lube on them. I've torn my press out of it's benchtop before because I didn't use enough lube. That press doesn't have the leverage of a Rockchucker but mine has served me very well for many years.

                  Happy reloading!

Give RCBS a call or an email. They can and most likely will send you replacement parts. I lost the hinge pin in my press during a move and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Did you anchor the bench to the wall? That looks prety heavy so it may not be necessary. Remember, some day you will have to replace that waterheater! And don't store you powder & primers near the appliances.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

No I dont think anchoring is necessary. But I did weld footplates just incase I have to.

One issue is table is perfectly level, but the scale doesnt have enough adjustment. When it barely hits zero, leg is completely unscrewed and falls off.

Possible answer is that you might have a mismatched beam. Rcbs calibrates each beam with each base. Therefore if it switched out, you will get incorrect readings. Call and send it in to rcbs. They will take care of it for you.

Put a 50 cent piece under the adjuster, that will give you a few extra threads when level. Nice bench by the way, like others I would mount the power measure to a small plank and keep it on the left.

Would I want anything on the right to the press? Or should I mount it closer to the corner?
