Crimp isnt the problem, neck tension is. You should go back to the resizing step and ensure you have the die set up correctly, if it is, you may need to sand down the expander ball just a bit.http://www.midwayusa.com/product/568...ail-box-of-100
reloading these right now and I have loaded two and I am able to push the seated bullet down the neck a little bit..... All my cases measure out to exactly what they should be... Is it required that I crimp these bullets? Thanks.
Ive had to do this with 2 of my rifle die sets, its actually a lot more common of a problem than you think.
At any rate, crimping the bullet in place is just masking an error in the process, i typically dont crimp most rifle rounds. -
You should not need to crimp as stated above.
What brand dies?
Call the company and have them send a new expander ball.
Also you might check the be sure the die is sizing enough. Remove the expander/decap stem and size a case. If the bullet pushes in easy the problem is with the die body and it needs to go back to the manufacture. If the bullet is tight then it is the expander ball.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

i never crimp ,just a personal preference that i dont think its necessary for what i do.neck tension was mentioned...the inside diameter should be .002 smaller than the diameter of the bullet +/-Keep it simple!Comment
