    Dillon RT-1200B trimmer question

Anyone have the .308 version that has used it on .223 or vice Versa. I have the .233 model but they keep telling me it won't work on .308. But won't give me a reason. I wanted to see if maybe there is something that won't allow it to accept .308 cases

The trimmer will work on both, it's the die that's different.

The dies are caliber specific because they double as resizing dies (without decapping rods)

You just need to buy the die for the caliber that you are currently missing.

You just need the .308 trim die. They have two trimmer motors. I think the difference is shaft length. If the shell you want to trim is as long or longer than a .223, then you already have the correct trimmer motor.

That's what I wanted to hear was hoping all it was was the die and not motor

Yup, use mine for both .223 and .308. Different dies as you already know.

If you want to reload 7.62X39 you need a different motor.

            Other than that....no.

I don't plan on it but what is the reasoning for the other motor for 762x39

Because the cases are so short. But there is a work around. Ch4d makes dies and then you have to mod the toolhead.
