    Which reload brass to purchase?

I am about to start reloading my 308 rounds. I need to know which of the following brass is the better in quality and will last the longest for reloading.
Norma, Lapua, Nosler custom, Remington, and Winchester.

Lapua is best and will last longest of those listed.

I expect this is for use in your soccom. If so, get some once fired military brass and go with it. It will last quite a while and you won't be needlessly spending money for the accuracy advantages the Lapua provides. You won't notice a difference in the soccom.

I was told the primer holes in the military brass were of a different size, and that the military brass wouldn't fit in my redding 308 dies?

You got some bad intel. The primer pockets have a crimp in them that needs to be removed, but thats it. It will size just like commercial 308 brass. Its a little thicker so you can't use max loads that were meant for, say, winchester brass. Military brass is great stuff for a gas gun.

How does military brass compared to Lapua brass accuracy wise?

I know Lapua is the top of the line, but will mil spec measure up if I load match bullets for accuracy?

              Best brass - Lapua

I probably won't want to use Lapua (50c a piece) in a SEMIAUTO gun.... losing them is painful...

Just get some WCC(NATO marked) or LC brass...

Milspec will do just fine. I shot this course with 155 scenars loaded in old Remington (RA60) military cases...out of a POS savage nonetheless. Didn't do any sorting or prep work. Just removed the primer pocket crimp. ES was around 20. With this recent 308 brass shortage, I'm tempted to use the RA60 cases until I can get some more lapua.

Not that it applies to your case, but in general Prvi Partisan/Wolf (nny headstamp) is actually pretty good brass for reloading as well.

Lapua - great quality and lasts a very long time. Until you lose it.
Winchester - very good quality and lasts a long time.
                      Remington - not too bad.
Norma - great quality, but is TOO soft. Will not last with heavy loads.
Nosler custom???? - have never seen it.
Federal - Primer pockets will give up after several loadings.

                        Rick,

Look around for some LC once fired brass, AUTO loaders are SUPER hard on brass. In my Buddies M1A I run around and pick up all the mil spec brass I can. It takes Autoloaders best, and is inexpensive.
I wouldnt waist money buying Lapua or anything else unless its for a Bolt gun. Even a Ar10 id use LC match stuff.
