    Win Auto Comp

I'm new to reloading. Now that reloading components are showing up again I'm trying to get what I need to get started. So far I have been able to find primers and bullets but powder seems to be in short supply still. A LGS has some Win Auto Comp in stock. I shoot 9mm & .40 S&W. My research indicates this powder will work for these calibers. If you have used this powder I'd appreciate your input.
    Thanks

I have been using autocomp for about a year for 9mm and .45acp and I love it. I used a few other powders but prefer autocomp, low flash, relatively clean burning, meters great and get great accuracy with 115gr, 124gr and 230gr bullets.

          Good powder...

Load data is available on the IMR website for AutoComp

Also you need to get a couple of manuals to provide a starting point and validate information that you are given.

Don't count on load date given here or anywhere on the interwebs without some way to validate it!

Thanks for the advice and link. The wed site you provide is one I've visited many times. I'm also looking for a good manual and am open to suggestions.

Yeah, me too. I've been using it mainly for 45 and 40, and it does very well. I got a good deal on an 8lbs jug and have been using it ever since. It meters flawlessly, it throws heavy and does a good job of filling the case. I can see this propellant in my cabinet for many years...

This propellant was intended for "race guns" with compensators but it shoots great in my 1911, so don't worry about that. It's been "happy loading" this far with Auto Comp; give it a try...
