          Yes people will use charges other than those listed on IMR's website. Not everyone is going to have the same barrel length, twist and desired velocities.

          This is why it is important to start low, and work your way up, in order to find the sweet spot for your particular firearm. It won't be the same as everyone else's.

            I'm guessing you don't own a reloading manual. Buy one.

              I load 23 grains of 3031, works nicely with a 55 FMJ.

              Per Sierra Bullets manual-

              * 23.1 grains @ 2700 FPS
              * 23.6 grains @ 2800 FPS
              * 24.1 grains @ 2900 FPS
              * 24.6 grains @ 3k FPS- MAX LOAD!!!

              Good luck OP, and get a manual

                    This one! Lol

                    Worst case, get the "One Book/ One Caliber photocopied books for a few bucks. But the Lyman is the best bang for your buck.

                    Good luck brotha! Be safe.

                        Overloads and dumb luck

                        The Lyman (which ever edition is current) is very good. I also keep up with the latest Sierra, Hodgdon and Hornady manuals, in no particular order.

                        By the way: Lots of people shoot over loads. Contrary to popular belief, an overload will not always 'blow up' a firearm. An overload will surely beat up a firearm before its time, but actual catastrophic explosions with bits of gun flying all over creation are comfortably rare. So the less intelligent think an overload is okay and continue to shoot overloads.

                        I would urge caution. Guns, fingers and eyes tend to last longer that way.
