    BGI Brass

Does anyone have any experience with Black Gun Industries 223 Rem brass? If so, please share your thoughts on it. It is the only 223 brass I can find right now and the price is not bad. Just looking for some feedback to decide if I will buy or not.

    Thanks.

The reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse is that you cannot post "Thou Shall Not Steal", "Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery", and "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creates a hostile working environment.

No, but why buy new brass? Especially .223.

Because I don't like to buy once fired brass for an extremely accurate bolt rifle. I like to buy my brass to be is all from a single lot to insure a greater consistency of internal volume for better accuracy.

you can always sort head stamps and weigh the brass afterwards.

This. I mean if you're talking about precision shooting wouldn't you be inspecting ever element of your cases anyway? take 30 more seconds to weigh and sort. F/L size them, then after you shoot them sort them again and only neck size. Instant free brass.

besides, once fired brass is not the variable that affects your rifle's accuracy, its the loaded ammunition as a whole you plan to produce.

You know, I give up. Why does everyone think I should use once fired garbage? I want new brass. If you can give me feedback on YOUR experience with BGI brass, please do, but please don't offer any comment on how I should reload. I have been reloading for over 40 years. I've been the once fired route and it is not for me.

Even sorting by head stamp is a waste of time when you are reloading for maximum accuracy. The brass you get probably comes from multiple manufacturing lots and therefore has different case wall thicknesses and internal volumes.

No need to get all wound up. If you want precision info the hide is a better place.

Here for .223 we assume you are making blaster ammo. In your OP you could have mentioned your use.

Just a guess but if you were asking about any of the more common long range rounds you would have received a totally difference response.

Maybe I did get a bit wound up, but not one person, including you, answered my original question. "What's your experience with BGI brass". All everyone tells me I don't need to buy new.brass. That is not an answer to the question. So my last reply stand. If you don't have any thing to contribute about BGI brass, then I don't expect a response.

Why would you assume I just want to reload "blaster ammo". Maybe that is what you do, but not everyone who is dedicated to the shooting sports is a blaster.

Sorry for the assumption but blasting and reloading on the cheap is more what calguns has been about lately.

Plus I have always believed there is too much voodoo in precision shooting.

10 rounds in a 1" circle at 100 yards with brass I pick up off the grass, processed on a Dillon 650 at full speed, milsurp powder, tula primer, and a 77gr SMK.

Just giving you a hard time. Well to calguns and the internet.

I am trying to put those 10 rounds into a .25 inch square or 2 inches at 600 yds. It takes a lot of work and attention to detail on the bolt action rifle build, your bench shooting technique, and what seems to be unimportant details when reloading. To a benchrest shooter, a few thousandths of an inch can be the difference between winning a losing.

Had you mentioned benchrest in your original post, I'm sure (at least I hope) the response would have been different. No experience with that brass and I can't seem to find any info on it. Good luck!
