Shot my very first reloads. Success!

I finally got out to Hodge Rd this morning to try my very first 9mm reloads. I made up 20 rounds using 4.2gr Titegroup with 115gr FMJs and OAL at 1.155. They shot and cycled the gun very well. The only surprise was how sooty Titegroup is.

Thanks to everyone who supports the beginners. I learned quite alot just by reading posts.

Titegroup is pretty dirty. Most people use 231. I am a big fan of 700x and literally never clean my glock.

I remember the first time I shot Titegroup reloads at an indoor range. Add in the homemade lube on the lead bullets I was shooting and it looked like a Bob Marley concert in there.

I have a bunch of 700-X left over from when I loaded shotgun shells. I use it in a bunch of pistol cartridges. I also use 231 as it meters well in the Dillon.

BTW---I thought that was the whole idea. To make rounds that worked. So you did well.

I've been using Titegroup for years. Maybe since 2003.

I thought about switching to a cleaner powder, but to be honest, I've never felt the need to. I shoot outdoors so the extra smoke compared to other powders isn't that big a deal. Titegroup just works. Can't complain.
