You picked the worst time in the world to start reloading. You are going to just have to get lucky.

There is no wrong time to start reloading but it's true, you will need to get lucky.

Unique, 231, bullseye, even some shot shell powder will work with 9mm.

Just about every website has a powder that will work for 9. Powder valley has WST and longshot. Grafs has wst. Recob target shop has bullseye, longshot.

Any of those will get you started... good luck

You can still find some on the internet stores like Powder Valley, but the problem is you have to pay $25-30 for Hazmat and $15-20 for shipping and handling. It's really not worth it unless you buy in quantity. You can find some on the Calguns reloading and ammo sales section, but most of it is $30-40 per pound. This site does real time inventory updates on most of the internet store inventories. http://www.gunbot.net/reloading-supplies/powder/

Powder Valley Inc is your friend - you need to check there as often as possible.

Components, as others have pointed out, are in short supply.

www.powdervalleyinc.com - they have consistently been the best component shop I have dealt with other than being able to walk into a place locally.

Powder Valley has WST in stock right now. It might not be in the most recent reloading manuals, but many people (myself included) have used it with no incident. Burns clean!

                  Here:

Grafs has a flat fee of $6.95 for shipping. + $27.50 for hazmat.

WST is in stock there for $71.99/4lbs

Thats $106.44 for 6000-7000rds worth of ammo.

They also ship quick, no more backlogs like Powder Valley.

Target shotshell and standard velocity handgun propellant. Ideal for use in 45 Auto match applications. Consistent, clean, low flash and smoke are benefits to the shooter. Powder of choice for reloading AA® shells.

RED DOT, GREEN DOT, HERCO, UNIQUE, BULLEYE (from Hercules reloading manual)...

(I had circled Herco for my own reference because I have lots of it and use it for pretty much everything in shotgun and pistol)...

Go down to Breco Firearms on Tollhouse in Clovis. Talk to Benjamin, he is the resident reloader there. They have a pretty decent stock of powder, brass, equipment etc.

I don't think you have to be lucky, but you aren't going to find squat in an hour in these market conditions. Work harder at it, exercise a little patience and you can find anything you want out there.
Check Powder Valley a couple times a day. Also visit them on Facebook. Put notifications in with Graf's, Gamaliel and Wideners. There are others as well. Midway is not good for powder. Natchez has pricey freight and limits quantities (as does Cabelas) and the haz mat fees will then eat you up.
                        Good hunting.

Not lucky just pay up. So what if powder you can get is 2x the price of prepanic. Do the math on how much you are paying vs buying new.

Same for primers. Lead - just shop around....

The best deals are here. No kidding. If you arent loading big buying ftf avoids hazmat fee.
