Question about .38sp +p loads

I am using Hodgdons 4227 powder and went to their load data site and found a Max load of 11 grains, but the minimum field is empty. My Lymans 49th doesn't even show the +p and my Lee manual shows the +p but not the powder I have. what do I do in this situation? Buy more manuals?

None of the powders show a minimum for +P that's the charge you use, if you
look at the 38spl the max for it is 10gr. so for +P you would use 11gr.

It's customary to only supply the upper end when dealing +P. A reduced (starting load) wouldn't be a +p.

Figure the max of 10g for standard pressure 38 to be your "starting load"

Sort of wondering why you are using a magnum powder for a relatively low pressure cartridge.. 4227 is generally meant as something with heavy bullets at higher pressures.. there are better +P powders out there that use half the powder..

Otherwise, like others have said, if you want a starting load, look at standard 38 spl.. the difference between 38 Spl and 38 Spl +P is only about 1500 psi..
