    Dang Bullets got expensive!!!!!

Went to the USI Range today to buy some bullets. (Members get a discount)

    The 40 cal 200 grn cost $107 per 1000 + tax
    The 45 cal 230 grn were $1000 per 1000 + tax

    These were jacketed Zero Bullets.

Might have to consider lead bullets in my 1911's....
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

Lead bullets work great in 45. I've been casting them for years. And wheel weights are dirt cheap.

Where have you been sourcing your wheel weights? Seems like all of the places around here have "contracts with recyclers"....

I know everyone says find a small tire shop....I guess they aren't small enough around here....

I just bought 2000 9mm bullets and I am planning to buy at least 4000 more pretty soon before prices go up more.

Smaller non-chain shops. 15 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket. Out at the small range I frequent, I hit the backstop and look for commercial hardcast bullets. They're usually right under the surface. I've got hundreds of pounds of good lead that way.

How about using the lead out of old car batteries? Has anybody tried that?

Try working up loads and BDC info with CNC-lathed solids @ $2.25 a piece...ugh. I swear they told me my rifle was chambered for .408 rounds, not $5 bills.

yup dont mess with battery lead

either A you dont neutralize the sulphuric acid and it corrodes your molds and barrel

or b you neutralize the acid and it makes salts that corrode your molds and barrel
