44-40 Winchester Round ?

I was considering buying a gun with this round - can't find any brass that is close for it. Is it unobtainium?

Any other brass that can be substituted (after necking) ?

Field time in Westminster had it last time I was there.

One of the first revolvers I ever shot. I loved it. If you buy one, you're totally letting me shoot it.

ETA. I think Phillips wholesale had them too when I was last down there.

Still thinking about it. Bought another 45C revolver recently...
You can shoot 45C or 44 RemMag all you want... I've got plenty.

Did you check the usual reloading supply online dealers?? Midway, Powder Valley, et al! Also check Starline Brass directly.

I usually see it over by you at Fowlers but I don't remember seeing it last week. You can definitely get it and I've actually been looking into one as well. Let me know what you come up with.
BTW... When you coming out here to shoot?

Nothing readily available or easy --
38/40 can be sized up but it's harder to find than 44/40 --
30/40 can be used with a peck o work -- and its only available in factory batch runs --

Thanks - that's kinda what I was looking for. I do NOT need another caliber - having enough trouble with the ones I have now.. Was kinda hoping brass I have would work, but alas not..

did you look at the links I put there? buffalo arms has both rem and win brass for it. also the other link is for someone here on cg that has some brass and some loaded ammo for pulldown. I can't make it any easier for you.
