    ballistic coefficient when used in trajectory software

    I have been playing with some trajectory software that goes in a PDA for bullet drops, etc. Some thing I noticed is that you only enter a bullets BC and not the weight of the bullet when enter the info for a calculation.

    I would have though that weight would have been important in this calculation......does this sound right to you? Or is BC really the only factor that counts here?

    Ballistic coefficient takes the bullet's weight into account in it's formula.

      BC is a measurement of how the bullet flies through the air.
      You can have two bullets of the same weight with different shapes and they will have radically different BC's.
      You can have two bullets of different weights and they both could have the same BC.
      Weight does not matter.
      Diameter does not matter.
      Length does not matter.
      Only BC matters.
