    RN 357 OAL

I know that the OAL is 1.590 for a FP bullet. But I got some RN bullets and if I seat them down that low. They seem to far down in the Case. I am shooting a Ruger GP100 revolver. I was wondering as long as I stay inside the cylinder I should be fine? I was thinking of 1.640 for OAL. What do you think? I kinda has a similar problem with my Ruger 44 FTX bullets. But I should be fine as long as they are inside the cylinder and allow for it to rotate? Thank you for your help!

As long as they fit into your cylinder you'll be fine. The longer they are seated the lower the presure.

I don't think I've ever measured oal in 357. I've always just loaded them to the cannelure.

Sadly. The bullets that I am using currently do not have a cannelure.

I only load lead in 38spl and 357mag. I've seen plated and jacketed bullets without cannelures but never tried them.
