Who pan lubes their cast boolits?

Looking for a non-sticky, hard type lube recipe for 9mm that will work with pan lubing. I started a thread on castboolits.com but didn't get any responses. Trying to see what you Calgunners use.

    Google Felix Lube .

    here is a version :

    2 Tablespoons mineral oil
    1 Tablespoon castor oil
1 Tablespoon Ivory, or homemade soap (grated)
    1 Tablespoon Lanolin
    Beeswax - Piece approximately 3 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 1 "

Heat mineral (baby) oil until it starts to smoke.

Add castor oil, and stir continuously for 1/2 hour.

Sliver the soap, and stir into the mixture a little at a time, until melted.

Add the beeswax before the lanolin, and then when that is melted, reduce or remove the heat and add the lanolin, thus not running any risk of burning or scorching the lanolin.

1 teaspoon of carnuba wax can be added to give a shiny bore. This can be found on the seal of Makers Mark whiskey, or the red wax on cheese from the supermarket.

You make it harder buy adding a little paraffin.

Bens red on Castboolits was a favorite of mine. You may want to double the beeswax though because the original formula was pretty soft.
Anyway...here's a dearth of reasoning to ponder: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Guns

Lube sticks are sooooo cheap, why not just buy a cheap, used lube sizer and go that route?

I tumble lubed for a long time before finally buying a Star, but there are much cheaper ones like a Lyman out there. Overall cost is not very much compared to the work involved in pan lubing. Just my 2 cents.

Have you tried the tumble lube from Lee. Most handgun loads are not moving fast enough that it wont work.

I've been keeping my eye open on eBay and castboolits.com for a Lyman 45, 450, or 4500 but they all seem to sell for damn near new prices. I was trying to keep it on the cheap side because my other hobby (car restoration) is eating into my shooting funds.

I wanted to avoid the tumble lube (and other sticky/tacky lubes) because I'm using these reloads for USPSA and didn't want them getting all fouled up with dirt when I do mag changes. Last thing I want to do is spend my down time cleaning bullets.

try a little talcum powder after they dry and before you load them. takes the sticky away , or at least covers it up.
