Went to Reno this weekend and I stopped at Sportsman Warehouse and Cabelas on way home. Got some .40 Critical Defense and .40 Z-Max. Then Cabelas had a ton of Herter's in 7.62 @ 5.99 a box. Picked up enough to replace what I shot when I broke in my AK . Saw at the register that limit was 5 per person. The cashier did not even bat an eye when I put it all on the counter.

Sad, isn't it when you see $6/box as a good deal when it was $4.50/box last year. I spontaneously bought a case of it back then and was questioning whether it was a good idea since they seemed to have the sale almost every other month at that price or sometimes even lower. All I could say now is whew!

Same here I bought 1k for each AK last year. In bulk it cost me $269 +tax. Basically I paid what I paid October/November last year.

What annoys me is that Cabelas gets a crap load of it and charges good prices and The LGS are empty, but it is in more regularly than most other ammo, they charge $9.99 a box. I didn't know Russia was having a shortage as well....
