Nice! Just wanted to thank you for taking your time to make this. It's always nice to see what others are doing differently.

            Nice presentation.

But a word on the Hornady LNL overall length guage. The cases that you buy are set to Sammi spec, not exactly the same as my rifles or yours probably. Maybe they work for Rimmed cases or Belted cases, but for case like the 308 which headspace off the shoulder, they aren't the same length that I shot.

If you push the Hornady cartridge in until the shoulder touches the chamber and then push the bullet in until it touches the lands, you're going to be measuring the distance for that case and bullet. But your not going to shot that case.

If the distance from the datum on the Hornady case is different from the cases that are fire formed by your rifle or resized by you, than the COAL will be off. My recent Lapua brass had a distance of 1.615 from the datum to the base so that it fits all rifles. After fire forming, they measured 1.620, which is where I load them when I neck size only.

So, if the shell used with the tool is longer or shorter then your reloading brass, your COAL will be off by the distance from the Datum to base of the tool case and your actual loading cases. And because of the latitude of the Sammi spec that could be much larger than the .010" you're backing off the lands. So, unless you're actually planning to shot jammed into the lands, I'd suggest backing off a little more. Or making you own test case.

So although it is inconvenient, I'd drill and tap an actual cartridge that has been resized and whose headspace is correct for your rifle.

I learned something new in part 3. The other parts are pretty similar to what we do in mass reloading (cleaning, full length sizing, trimming etc.). It's also nice to see how the RCBS case prep center and power measurer works.

One thing I would like to correct you on is the tool you are using is a digital caliper (vernier caliper). A micrometer measures to greater precision and looks like this http://www.daviddarling.info/images/...er_caliper.jpg
