      Topic for next meeting

Does anyone understand the new Brown laws to explain the impact? Most seem to go into effect in about one year.

        Ammo Needed

I have a friend that is looking for 240 WBY 100 grn. Spire Point (not Spitzer or Nosler Partition) ammunition. If anyone has any they want to sell, let me know.

If anyone has that last bullet buy form please make a copy and bring it as I am still out of town and won't be able to make it to the meeting

Edit: if no one does let me know and I'll email it to you can guarantee prices but they should be pretty close.

                9mm Brass Casings

I have 9mm brass casings that are once fired, deprimed, cleaned by wet tumbling and bagged in bags of 500 for $15 a bag. Anyone interested, let me know and I will bring to the meeting tonight.

                    Bullet Pullers

I screwed up some 7.5X55 ammo a while back and finally got a puller from Brownells, a Davidson plier style puller. Also got from Sportsman's, the 30 cal collet for my RCBS bench mount puller I already had but had never used.

The Davidson was nicely made, smooth gripping surface. Light weight, simple to use. Run the cartridge up through the empty press hole, seat the puller around the bullet above the case neck, squeeze, and pull the case off the bullet with the ram. Since I don't crimp the target rounds, no issue. Right? Wrong! The plier gripping surface is ~3/8" and with the COL, I only had about 1/8" of grip surface on the bullet body. The case keep pulling the bullet out of the pliers. PITA! I didn't consider them "deep" seated.

Nice concept if you only have one or two, but with 29 to do, I gave up after about 7. It took between 1 and 8 tries per bullet to remove it.

Figured out the RCBS Collet Puller and had the rest done in less time that the others took. I'll keep the Davidson, but sure didn't work simply as advertised.

                    Fyi... Ymmv. :-)

I really like my RCBS bullet puller, even though I haven't used it in years. It just works. Now the inertia puller I have used a lot in recent years.

I like impact puller(kinetic) a lot. Although you waste the powder there tends to be no bullet marks and or case damage

I don't lose the powder with mine either...well, not all of it anyway.

I just decant it into a powder pan

I don't technically lose it. Just don't like to reuse it. Just in case there's any contaminants in the puller from previous rounds
