i always have put a slight crimp on my auto pistol rounds.. Im still new to all this
They say to crimp semi-auto rounds due to the fact that the bullet could be pushed back into the brass from the loading process (or cycling process). If for some reason it pushes back too far it could cause an unsafe situation.
I have done so much with so little for so long that now I can do almost anything with nothing at all.

Its from the round hitting the feedramp over and over... Its not usually an issue unless you chamber the same round into the gun many many times.. Over time the projectile gets set back too far, and can cause an overpressure which can be extraordinarily dangerous (I.e., blow up the gun).

Crimping can help, but I don't generally bother as it shouldn't be an issue IMHO... Its only an issue if your playing stupid games or not paying attention.

BTW: This can happen very easily with factory ammo too... People that carry daily need to be careful about tossing rounds with setback.

The key is just to toss the rounds, take them apart/fix them, or keep them on a rotation so you dont chamber the same round more than ____ times (whatever you decide, I wont give the numbers i use). Personally, they just end up in a bowl next to my safe and I shoot them at the range later in the month.

Anyone have a set of 223 Headspace Gauges they could bring to the next meeting? I have a new upper I just assembled and would like to check.

I been lurking around the last few years and started collecting brass every time I'm in the woods. I will be collecting as much as possible and will start coming to these meets to make some pals and learn the basics of reloading.
One question is what brand press/loading kit should I go with to work on 9mm/.45/.223/556/300blk/308/762 I hear good things and the first loader I worked was a turret style Dillon.

                    OK...

Meeting is on for Wednesday! Additionally, we have been going at it for a year now and I decided that a BBQ is in order. Details are in the email. Please RSVP for this one, so I can get an accurate food count.

Look forward to seeing everyone and congrats to all on a successful 1st year!

Well I blessed you with my presence on my birthday so count your lucky stars. And I hope your facial reconstruction surgery turns up something better for you.

Just as long as you did not wear your birthday suit, thats all that really matters. We all would have lost our appetite and would have had to wash out our eyes with bleach to remove that awful image of you standing there in your birthday suit!

Technically we were all there in the same room in our birthday suit, while wearing urban coveralls.

Hello Sacramento club. I just joined the club and haven't been able to attend a meeting but I need some teaching. I am new to reloading and bought a full reloading setup from a buddy that needed money. It's a dillion 550. I'm just throwing out if anyone is willing to come over and show me how to reload I would get some pizza or dinner or whatever. I live in natomas. Thanks everyone.

Welcome. I'm currently working some crazy hours for the next two weeks but if nobody can help you get setup let me know. I also have a Dillon 550 and I'm in North Highlands. Go Team Blue!
