    I agree.

Well 17+1, that is a good post you did. I gives us another way to anchor stuff to our benches. Options are always welcomed. Good Job.

I finally did get my Rock Chucker mounted to a larger hunk of wood that hopefully will be stronger that my last efforts. Have pictures but not skilled enough to upload them. I'll drag it along to the next meeting.

I tend to scrounge for brass at the range... sometimes find a honey pot of once fired stuff. Just bulk cleaned my 223 range pickings and found an odd headstamp: IK in 5.56x45. Not my normal stuff so put it aside after trying to decap one and it was not working at all. could see the Boxer hole but the pin would not punch the primer. Some time ID'ing the headstamp and researching my issue. Found an discussion on exactly this cartridge. Supposedly, the flash hole is slight smaller than SAAMI spec but the Lee Universal Decapper should work. I have that decapper but no go. My one old experience was if I gently raise the brass until it stops, back off, rotate the brass slightly and try again. Sometimes just moving the brass off plumb will work too.

Anyway, finally was able to punch a couple of them. Looking at the flash hole, THE DAMN THING IS OFF CENTER!!!! Have about 20 of them and it is NOT worth the time to fiddle with them. But if you find some in your pickups, now you know.

Everyone take care and be safe with this damn bug making life inconvenient. Be Well :-)
Sounds like the PMC brass which has been maligned for off center flash holes

My Loading bench top is 3/4" ply with a Masonite overlay but I mount my presses on a short piece of 2 x 8 and then bolt that to the bench. Absolutely no flex that way.

I'm doing great, and today I had to do some errands and went by 2 golf courses that are now open and people are golfing, sure like to go shooting. At Sac Valley if they put a orange cone on every other bench. make people mask up I think it would be good to go>Just my thoughts

We are doing just fine. I am off on medical leave and have been filling up all of my ammo cans getting ready for when the ranges re-open. Take care all!
I have done so much with so little for so long that now I can do almost anything with nothing at all.

Well, it's May 8th... Figure RT will have it's dining closed next week. Looking forward to seeing somebody that is reloading related. Wife and I are doing fine healthwise. She is hanging on by her nails with the office. Subway across the parking lot indicates business is down 65% and he has had to lay off everyone, reduced hours to boot.

Meantime, I finally got ambitious with the Super Swage 600 and made a couple modifications. 1, took out the gold positioning block and replaced it with the CNC inserts from Inline fabrication. Has made a difference in moving the brass laterally to center the swage rod. This gizmo centers and elevates the primer pocket for a no fuss swage. The little pieces of 'plastic' are not inexpensive, but they are not cheaply made either. 2, courtest of a YouTube idea, got a spring to loop around and behind the anvil mandrill, causing it to fling the swaged brass into a catch basin (shoe box). There were a few mental and physical hiccups to overcome, but seems to be flinging nicely. Will bring to a meeting when we get going again.

Best to all and stay well. :-)

I'm still in the process on building my reloading desk. Made no progress all week, traveling around town taking up all my time. I picked up some hardware to finish it and going to start working on the top soon.20200425_195554.jpg

Damn, didn't know we were building cabinet grade work benches! Will this be French Provincial or Swedish Modern. Hand rubbed finish? :-) You're doing a way better job than I accomplished. I just use 16 penny nails and you're using pocket joints. Kudos.

Hi everyone. I want to get into reloading and it seems wise to seek counsel from people with experience first... plus it would be great to get out of the house! Are there meetups still going on?
