The Angels Share. Lost brass when shooting handguns.

Went to the range today and for the first time fired a handgun with the intent of retrieving the brass and reloading. I lost about 8% of the brass, which is way higher than my loss for rifle rounds as I am either bolt action or use a net - see below - which works well on my AR and AK,

I'm assuming that this rate of loss is par for the course?

I always come out with more brass than I went in with, always.

It is funny because some of the ranges here in the valley won't let you pick up your brass. Once it hits the floor it stays. Now if you had a net I dont think they could say anything.

Most everywhere I shoot allows you to collect your own brass, I usually go home with a little less than I shoot....

That's why I bought a revolver, just dump the brass into a box.

Happened to me today too. Folks either side of me shooting 45acp who didn't reload. Heck, one even helped me pick it up. Nice when that happens.

I go home with more as well. And usually in all sorts of different calibers. I reload the 45 acp and trade off the rest when I get enough of it....

I don't reload yet, but my brass still comes home with me. As well as others that donate to me when I'm picking it up.

I shoot at Angelus and haven't had a problem I usually sweep the area with their broom before shooting and pick up anything I see when done.
