    WinClean ammo?

Who has the best price on Winchester's lead-free, mercury-free, etc.-free ammo? Or another similar product?

The range near me prefers the WinClean ammo, but they charge an arm and leg for a box of it.

Any ideas? Are there other brand names to be aware of to search? So far it looks like the biggies don't have any.

    Thanks for looking!

    Cheers,

    IIRC I don't think WinClean means LEAD-FREE.

It is just a SOFT TIP ammo... ie. the bottom of the bullet is completely copper jacketted...

Theoretically, since the powder and the burning won't touch the lead, that reduces lead vaporization... leading to cleaner "range air"....

Ask your range to turn up their ventilation rates. I know mine does and I'm glad it does.

I don't know if this is less than the arm and leg you pay, but ammunitiontogo has Federal Indoor Range Training (IRT) toxic metal free 9mm for $11.95/50.
Bulk ammo for sale including surplus, Hornady, Winchester and many other brands. Cheap, in-stock pistol & rifle rounds with fast shipping today.

I don't know what they have for other calibers.

But it's hard to beat the ventilation at outdoor ranges.

Indoor ranges just suck for so many reasons...
Find a nice outdoor club and join it.

Hey, I'm in Ventura too, I assume you're talking about Shooters Paradise in Oxnard. I've found their reloads shoot OK, better than some I've used, and their prices arent that much more than wal mart winchester white box.

www.ammoman.com has Speer Lawman Cleanfire from time to time, but its still pretty expensive.
