I usually drop 10% off my load when using magnum primers. For my regular 9mm with 5.8 grains of power pistol i back down to 5.3 grains when using magnums.

When you guys are talking about dropping your loads down. Are you using a chrono and achieving roughly the same velocity with the slightly lower powder charge? or is this more just to make sure you don't over-pressure?

Sure, just rework your load like you should anytime you change components, use start loads and work back up. You will likely find the same load you liked before will be the same good load.

I would say 7-10% is all you need to back off, unless you were way over max already. If you were midrange or low end to start, 5% will be fine.

BTW, YMMV, but for my minimum power factor 9mm loads I consider SPP and MSPP primers interchangeable without any powder adjustment. In my case these are loads down near the minimum charge level already and testing for me has shown minimal velocity variation between the two types of primers so I don't even bother changing powder charge for this. BUT, I do not recommend this unless you are sure of things and have done some testing.

There's no refunds on reloading supplies... You could have tampered with it and someone could get hurt later on down the road

They just started carrying primers in the last couple weeks. Some say stores said it's temporary, others have been told they'll be getting other components also. I haven't heard of anyone picking any up in the Sac area, mostly SoCal people. I'll post up if any in Sac happen to have them if I get out in the next couple days.

big 5 in tulare carries all four, 45.00 for 1k they stock every friday at 10.00 am.
