    50 Beowulf

    Anyone shooting a 50 Beowulf?
If so, are you purchasing rounds from Alexander Arms or elsewhere? Or... Are you reloading?
If reloading, what is your cost per round? Where are you sourcing bullets? What powders have you found to work best?
I'm looking at building one and trying to gather some info. Unfortunately it isn't a popular caliber in my circles so I don't have access to anyone who can answer my questions.

    Thanks in advance.

Cabelas has almost constant stock of Beowulf ammo. Limit 5 boxes of 20 per day. I've caught it in stock 3 times.

I was lucky and caught a deal on here for an upper, ammo, reloading components, and dies for a nice price.

I'm reloading exclusively. Starline brass, hornady 300grn FTX, and(I believe) 37 grains of hodgdon 'lil gun over a WLP. Not sure what my cost per round is, but it's a damn sight less than any loaded ammo you can buy. I have bought bullets from midway and the local reloading store.

Thanks guys. My main concern with reloading was if the bullets were readily available (in normal times outside of the current shortages)
I'll be doing more research on loads. The information you guys provided helps. Thanks again.

Normally they are quite available. Just remember .500 not .510

How much are you paying for the Starline brass?

I bought my ammo at midway. I have not started reloading yet. I have been waiting for the brass and components in general to come down. I usually shoot my 50 bmg instead because I have alot of ammo for it.

Starline or AA brass, bulk Rainier from Midway and LilGun powder using AA load data from their website. Fairly cheap and accurate.

I had my reloading components before the .50 Beo got out of DOJ jail.

With new purchased brass, loading at 93.5 cents per round... now that I'm reusing that brass, 38.4 cents per round.
                  Be safe, have fun.

Wow. That's a much better price per round than I was anticipating.
                    Thanks Chris

I've been reloading Beo for a friend, hornady 300gr FTXs w/ 43gr of h110 and WLP.

Oaktree has h110 8lbers in stock. Surprisingly, WLPs can be found at any Big5...
