I have some 200gr 40S&W JHP bullets and am looking for a recipe using Unique powder. Anyone have any data/experience? I know 200gr is typically for 10mm but I thought if try it and the bullets weren't too expensive.

According to my Lee 2nd Edition, 4.8gr start - 5.3gr max minimum OAL 1.130"
My Hornaday has a number of powders listed for 200gr jacketed in 40S&W, but no Unique, mostly slower powders like Longshot and Blue Dot, etc.
Good luck, have fun. When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones." -
Keep an eye on 200 grain loafs for .40. Many of those loads may have load lengths of 1.800" or more for 1911 or 2011 style guns. That longer length was designed for feeding, but it lowers pressure.
A lot of those loads use fast powders like N320, titegroup, wsf, wst, and Solo 1000.Comment
