    Reloading 8mm Mauser

So I'm about to start reloading for my 8mm Mauser rifle (M48). I have all of the components I need except primers. The closest thing I can find is Magnum Large Rifle Primers by CCI. My questions is, is it safe to use these if I have to? What do I need to look out for? I looked through several load books and I found nothing about it. Any insight??

Large Rifle Magnum primers should be fine if you're using them with a ball powder.

To be absolutely safe you should start off 10% below as recommended by your reloading books. However, my Speer reloading manual lists a lot of loads for different cartridges using magnum primers. The magnum primers don't put out higher pressures, just longer burn rates to make sure the powder volume is ignited.
