Buy once and cry once buy a Dillon 550 and Dillon dies along with the complete tool heads,,,A great starter press.
You will eventually want a single stage alongside any progressive so it's fine to start with a SS. You will end up buying a progressive and I love my blue 550.

Before you buy a press buy the following in the following order:
    1. Reloading manual (lyman 49th is very nice)
    2. Primers
    3. Powder
    4. Press

Read the manual then buy 5k primers in each flavor for what you want to reload. Only after you have primers look for powder, only after you have powder look for a press.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

Im going to disagree but to each his own. After all that invest in primers and powders he isnt going to have much money for a press. I would buy the best press you can buy with the manual. While reading the manual and setting up the press, save up for some primers or powders. Also do some research on what powder you want to use, each person is different and if you ask you will be bombared with say 8 different powders.

Problem is that you can't reload without primers and powder, and those are hard to find right now. So you can buy a press and sit on a depreciating cost or you can buy materials and with the left over buy something that will make them work. As much as I think it's a good idea to buy a dillon, a lee classic with 5k primers and 8lbs of powder is way better than a dillon with no primers and no powder. Unless you are exceptionally good with cost estimation then you'll end up spending more on reloading tools than you originally thought, so it's a good idea to spend that money last.

If you can stomach the hunt for primers in today's market then you'll be fine but it would stuck to realize that it's too much of a hassle after you bought a press, although I need another 550b so if you want to buy one and sell it later
