Going to tumble with SS Media...

I have a couple of questions before I tumble for the first time. First question is do you clean your SS Pins before you tumble for the first time to get the lube off of them? Second, do you rinse the brass with hot water after tumbling?

No. The tumbler will do that just fine.
No. I just rinse them with the hose. Do it over a bucket to help recapture the SS pins. And get a magnetic pick-up tool to chase down the escapees.
Add some dish detergent (not a lot or it will foam up) and some Lemishine.
I use about two or three tablespoons of Lemishine to a gallon of water to tumble 500 or so .308 cases (decapped since it will clean the primer pockets and facilitate better draining after they are done.)
About 45 minutes in the tumbler or so, depending on how dirty the brass is. I air dry on good days, but have been known to put them on a towel on the sweater table in the dryer if its raining or cold outside.
Lube, size and prime, then run them in walnut with NuFinish car polish to put a buff finish (SS is more of a burnish) on them and to clean off the lube.
Some prime after the walnut tumble -- as long as you check for walnut bits in the flash hole or inside the case you'll be fine either way.

After resizing and trimming, I tumble again. Just like using squeaky clean brass to finish off the process.

To clean my SS pins i tumble them in SS pins jk, they are pretty much self cleaning

I tumbled the SS pins by themselves with 2 tablespoons of Dawn when the tumbler arrived. The SS pins had this factory oil on it.

I didn't want that oil getting onto/into my brass because I don't know if it would interfere with the powder or not (I refuse to take a chance).

Prime, then tumble with polishing media and Nu-Finish, am I reading this right? Should it be de-prime?
