    Reloading for garand

So both of my garands don't like the varget powder much. it's too slow burning?

I tried the m1 garand recipe in the hornady book and adjusting the gas block didn't do anything. maybe i don't know what i am doing with adjusting the gases?

Powders are listed in the books, top is fast burning and bottom is the slowest?

Surplus ammo shots great, no issue there.

I got 150gr and 168gr JHP hornady bullets.

    powders on hand:

What is the issue you're having, exactly?

Better stick to the 168's if you're going to use Reloder 15.

I'm not famiar with those powders for the garand. Unfortunately IMR4895 is hard as hell to find but that's THE garand powder. It's all I've ever used. There's a narrow range of powders that are garand safe. 4064 is supposed to be really good too. I think H4895 is safe.

Good info. Be careful and never use commercial/hunting ammo.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Varget and 4064 are excellent, and I use a SB sizing die.

IMR 4895 and IMR 4064 were always good performers. I can't comment on others.

IMR4895 was designed for 30-06, and use in military rifles. Use 46.5gr of IMR4895 under a 150gr projectile. It will be Garand safe and accurate. If you have issues feeding in your garand, you can try loading up a bit hotter but try 46.5gr first.
