The Blue Dot will give you the most velocity among those candidates.

The max book Blue Dot is pretty stout, not nuclear but plenty for anything up to big pigs (or really bad guys). The most accurate loads I have ever gotten in 10mm were with 2400. For whatever reason 2400 behaved better in my 10mm loads than it ever has in .357M or .44RM, no flyers. Velocity was not stellar but plenty for anything I would ever shoot with it.

I have taken a number of powders over book max with my G20SF and G29SF. I load with hand weighed charges and go up in .1gr increments. You need to be pretty detail oriented and methodical when playing over book. Also, get some spectra gloves, saves on the blood blisters if things do go south.

    Good luck, have fun.

yea i dont want anything to go south thats why i want to hear what you all load up. i have tried to load up as much as buffalo bore or corbon loadings but i cannot find the bullets that they use. like 135, 200 grain bullets. i want to constrain myself to see what people here use as their hot loads. this is all for a g29

I've loaded up to 10.9 grains of blue dot with 180gr XTPs with 1.26" OAL. Pressure can increase quickly but if I had to guess, getting to 11.3-11.5 doesn't seem unrealistic. But I started at like 9.5gr and worked up by .2 until 10.9gr. Anything past this I will load up by .1.

I actually worked up a load of 11gr for 180gr lead FP. I was impressed I got that far. Didn't push it passed there.

The important part is to start low and work your way up. I was loading 200gr RN for 10mm. Didn't have a known starting point as a reloading book suggested max of 9.6gr for HPs but on glocktalk someone said start around 10. Needless to say, I started at like 8.4gr. I got up to 10.8 and saw a more noticeable bulge between 10.6 and 10.8.

With any of these, I would start 2 grains less and work your way up.

Oh and Blue Dot is probably gonna be the best powder, but I'll link the glocktalk 10mm loading forum. Great info there. Just be safe.

You will likely find something a little faster like Power Pistol or 800x will give you better results with the 165's.

My favorite woods load bullet is the Bear Tooth 200gr LFNGC, not cheap but a great bullet for that purpose.

200gr XTP's also work pretty well, although I still prefer 180gr XTP's for all around use.

For target loads, I buy the Precision Delta 180gr JFP in lots of 2K.

            Good luck, have fun.

No 10mm here, but I've seen several places that say 800X is THE powder for going HOT.

Longshot 9.6-9.7gr with a 180gr PD fmj.... Still waiting to test bluedot and 800x....

If anyone has velocities with Longshot, bluedot, 800x, I'd love to hear.... I'm using a stock barrel G20, PD 180 fmj and MG 200 cmj. thx

I got my 200gr stuff from Chey Cast. They aren't as good as bear tooth, but they are less expensive.

And yes, Power Pistol and 800x are awesome powders for the lighter stuff.

My favorite light load for the 10mm is a Precision Delta 165gr FMJ-FN with 9 gr of Alliant Power Pistol, COAL=1.25". Not sure of the velocity but it shoots 2" groups out of my S&W 1006 at 25yrds.
